ChatGPT Guide 2026: Plans, Models and Using It Correctly at Work

ChatGPT is the most widely used AI tool in business life in Turkey, and at the same time the most misused one. Misuse usually takes two forms: processing company data on a free account, and concluding that "it does not work well in Turkish" from context-free one-line requests. This guide corrects both: plans and models as of September 2026, habits that improve output quality, and the safe-use rule at work.
The price and model information is dated September 2026 and changes quickly. Check OpenAI's current plan page before deciding. You can find a guide of the same scope for Claude in the article a guide to using Claude in Turkish.
Plans: who should get which? (September 2026)
| Plan | Monthly fee | Who it suits | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | 0 $ | Individual users who want to try it | Default model GPT-5.6 Luna, data training on by default, not suitable for work |
| Go | 8 $ | Individual users who want more volume | Ad-supported, no advanced reasoning and no Agent mode |
| Plus | 20 $ | Heavy individual use, freelancers | GPT-5.6 Sol, full deep research, Codex and Work agents, custom GPTs |
| Pro | 100 $ or 200 $ | Experts who spend most of the day with the tool | 5x or 20x usage, GPT-6 Astra inside chat (from 3 September 2026) |
| Business | 25 $ per seat (20 $ annual), Premium seat 125 $ (100 $ annual) | Teams and companies | Data training off, admin oversight, the minimum starting point for work |
The rule is simple: everyone working with company data should be on at least a Business seat. An employee processing a customer list on a personal Plus account is processing data outside the company's control. This topic is the first module of the corporate ChatGPT training program.
Models: GPT-5.6 Luna, Sol and GPT-6 Astra
As of September 2026 the default model of the free plan is GPT-5.6 Luna, and of the Plus plan GPT-5.6 Sol. GPT-6 Astra, released on 3 September 2026, is opening inside chat to the Pro, Business and Enterprise plans under the name "GPT-6 Pro", while Plus users reach it through ChatGPT Work and Codex. The practical rule for daily work is this: the default model is enough for routine writing and summary tasks, and the higher model is chosen for long reasoning and multi-step analysis. I explained what the model changes in detail in the article what is GPT-6 Astra.
Five habits that improve output quality
- Context first: Who you are, who you are writing to, what you want. Instead of "write an email", "write a formal but warm email to the purchasing manager of a manufacturing company, apologising for a late delivery and giving a new date."
- Give examples: Add two texts you wrote yourself and say "in this tone". In Turkish this is the step that removes the translated feel most.
- Make it think in the target language: Instead of "write in Turkish", say "write with the natural expressions used in business correspondence in Turkey, do not use translated English phrases."
- Use standing instructions: Define tone, industry and banned phrases once with custom instructions or the project feature. Do not repeat them in every chat.
- The final read is yours: The tool writes a good first draft. You clean up structural repetition, excess adjectives and unnecessary conjunctions.
The safe-use rule at work
- Customer, personnel and financial data is not entered outside a corporate account.
- Personal data is anonymised. Most work is done at the same quality with anonymised text.
- Every text that reaches a customer passes one person's approval.
- Numerical and legal information is verified against its source. The tool can produce wrong output in a confident voice.
- A one-page usage rule is written and the team signs it.
To turn this rule into a habit in the team, see the data security and privacy training content.
Where do ChatGPT and Claude differ?
Both are strong tools for work and most teams use both. The practical distinction is this: Claude stands out for long document analysis, careful and measured writing and code-focused agent tasks. ChatGPT stands out for general-purpose research, image generation, the wide plugin and custom GPT ecosystem and voice use. Turkish quality in both tools is determined by context and examples. For a detailed comparison, see the article AI tools compared.
How to start
For individual use, the Plus plan and the five habits above are enough of a start. In a company what is needed is not tool training but flow training: the team already knows how to open the tool. What it does not know is under which rule and with which template to move its own work. For that, see the corporate ChatGPT training page and, for all department programs, the corporate AI training page. If you want to work one to one on your own work, the session format is described on the individual AI training page.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the free version of ChatGPT enough for work?
Yes for individual trial, no for work. On the free plan data training is on by default, there is no admin oversight and the advanced models are limited. If you will be working with company data, the Business plan is the minimum starting point.
Does ChatGPT work well in Turkish?
Yes, the current models are fluent in Turkish. A drop in quality usually has three causes: no context given, a request for translated English phrases and no tone document. Giving two examples from your own texts is the step that improves Turkish output most.
On which plan can I use GPT-6 Astra?
As of September 2026 GPT-6 Astra is opening inside chat to the Pro, Business and Enterprise plans, and on the Plus plan it can be reached inside ChatGPT Work and Codex. Because this distribution changes quickly, check the current plan page before deciding.
ChatGPT or Claude?
Both are used for work. Claude stands out for tasks that need long document analysis and careful writing, ChatGPT for general-purpose research, image generation and the wide plugin ecosystem. Most teams use both. What matters is not the tool but the flow.
Is training needed for ChatGPT use in a company?
Not tool training but flow training. The team already knows how to open the tool. What it does not know is under which rule and with which template to move its own work. Corporate ChatGPT training takes a full day and is done with the team's own work.
